Empire Beats is jaaaaaaaammmzz daddy-o

Last night while I was out and about (and fairly chemically re-arranged) I saw for the second time, the band Empire Beats.  They’re from New York and I believe they play every third Thursday of each month at The Lakeside Lounge.  Are they worth your time? Yes! They’re great.  And I’m not just saying that because on occasion they kick a jam by old muggins over here.

The singer, Camille Atkinson, is pure class.  Her vocal qualities are impressive.  She is fearless and graceful in the same moment.  I really think she and the band delivered last night.  I would suggest if you have the opportunity, to make one of their gigs.  Check out http://www.empirebeatsnyc.com for more info.Image

I’ve lived in a lot of places…I think of Ohio as my home.  It’s where I did most of my growing up.  Now I play the guitar and write songs and I go around playing them.  Doing this on an ongoing basis is a roller coaster ride of the very best kind.

I’m gonna tell you all about it on this thing.  I should warn you in addition to being cross eyed, bowlegged, Presbyterian and invincible I’m also slightly dyslexic…I’m gonna try my best not to mix up words on this thing…my apologies in advance for my rather sloppy writing style but hey, it’s from the guts friend.

On that note, I’d like to say I’ll see ya out there…take care yourself and pick up anybody around you that needs pickin’.  You’ll be glad you did and so will they.
